Medscape Physician Lifestyle Report 2015

Overview of Medscape Physician Lifestyle Report 2015 looks at how burnout may affect lifestyle choices and experiences of United States physicians. The study involved about 20,000 physicians. 

  • The report chronicle the lifestyle of American Physicians nationally. 
  • 39.8% Physicians claimed they are burnt-out.
  • Those claiming burnt-out range from 37- 53% with the most burn-out being those in critical care and least being Dermatologists.
  • The most common causes of burn-out syndrome among them include those with too many bureaucratic task, long hours at work and income not high enough etc.

  • Women were more burn-out than males
  • Those in age of 46-55 years claimed more burnt-out
  • Those that have ever used marijuana were more burnt-out
  • Those that did not attend spiritual services where more burnt out.
